Practice!

More practice work.
Painted first an enviroball in a cool warehouse scene. A lot of fun to try and match the environment, and reminiscent of an hdr in Maya.

Here's a practice sketch from one of my books. A mixture of pen, markers and PS.

And lastly a very rough dragon character in a photo collaged bg. Just working on values.

I have other in prog sketches I'm excited to show when they're closer to completion.

Pencil Sketches

Working with pen and pencil a little bit more as of late. Will have more to update in this medium soon.
Following Doug Chiang's work, I achieved a few good sketches. I really love his robot work.

In other news..I'm also working on a CD album, designing covers, the CD, and inside spread.
Also, I'm heading back to LA for a visit for the Thanksgiving holiday, really excited to see friends!

Update!
Here's some quick pieces I've been playing around with. Just getting used to painting in Photoshop.
Some of these might be worthy of continuing...we'll see. Really enjoyed working with these grayscale landscape ones. Planning on uploading at least one more grayscale which will have some photo collage work as well.

Fall Painting

Hey guys! Here I took some reference images that I shot up the mountain and played with some quick speed painting. Got a good one!

Fall Colors - Hope Valley

Today we went up the mountain to see the falls colors. I thought I'd post them here so that they could offer me some great landscape references for digital painting. I also shot some close ups of the Birch trees. Soo cool!
