Explorations of the Psyche

Here's the 2nd piece of the series (the 1st is here). Whereas the first explored spiritual/philosophical ideas, this one takes a look at Psychological ones. I hope you enjoy, thanks.

Quotes are by Ken Wilber, Joseph Campbell and Carl Gustav Jung.

Noosphere - Designed for Inner Ascension

Something a little different for this blog post, had a little creative burst last night. I've been looking at this image (from which it's heavily inspired) after having read Teilhard de Chardin's The Phenomenon of Man and trying to make sense of it. So I incorporated a bit of Wilber, Hegel and other people's quotes and ideas and just had fun with it. Enjoy.

Life Drawing and Conceptual Work 2010-2011

Works from various life drawing sessions, and a bit of conceptual work for this blog update. Most of these are 2010-2011 pieces, but this is the first I've shared of them.

Hover Bike

Progress on the hover bike concept from the loose sketch. Working on transferring orthographic side views into the front and top footprint views in preparation for perspective. Really excited about this process!
Here's the original loose sketch.

And these I've taken the design further

Aero Reference and Construction

Aeroplanes! Drawn from reference and construction. Some from Scott Robertson's book, and the engines are from The Lore of Flight book that my Dad gifted me (it's super cool).

Fun with engines

Two from SC's book, one random one of my own

Full tutorial from the book. This one I'm going to have to attempt again, as it was a bit challenging. Super fun though!

Also took some great reference at the airshow. Here are just a few of those shots.

Volumes, Plants and Random

Here's some more workings from Scott Robertson HowToDraw book. Having fun learning how to work with complex volumes, mirroring and the like.

My own concept for a hover vehicle

Ant Man? Some times I just draw really random
odd ball things. This is such a case.

I got this really cool book entitled Designs of Nature,
from which I drew these items. I'm looking forward to drawing
from this book a bit more in the future. It serves as a nice juxtaposition
to the more solid surface form building that I've been doing.
