In the last couple of months I've been sketching faces, having a lot of fun with it and learning a great deal. I get excited in the attempt to capture just a hint of person's essence or emotion through their facial expression and through their eyes. As of now I can only get remotely close to that goal, however, but i'm pretty happy just to achieve a level of likeness and recognizable quality with them.< This is a recent sketch of Amma, done on brown with conte and charcoal.
